The text Language and Cultural Training of Foreigners in the School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners, University of Wrocław synthetically informs about the activities of the School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners at the University of Wrocław. It provides information on the types of courses conducted by SJPiK. There are thirteen of them, among them two-week courses for Erasmus students, semester courses, one-year preparatory course, annual intensive summer course, furthermore, since 15 years there has been a course for students from Mainzer Polonicum, since 14 years - for children and youth from St. Petersburg. A new and interesting experience is an online Polish language test for candidates coming from Ukraine to study at the University of Wrocław. A test center was established at the school, which carries out state examinations. The opulent activities of the school and the experience of the teaching staff have enabled the opening of a specialisation of Polish language teaching as a foreign language as part of Polish philology MA course and the same as post-graduate part time studies.

This article Film as an Element of Cultural Portfolio in Cultural Training of Foreigners concerns the use of documentary and feature film in teaching of a foreign language as well as in classes devoted to cultural education of foreigners. The authors argue that film can stimulate language training, and support the teaching of knowledge about Poland. First part consists of a detailed description of the film classes organized at the School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners of the University of Wrocław (curriculum, scenario and materials). Additionally, the annex contains sample materials related to two documentary films (Krzysztof Kieslowski's Talking Heads and Marcel Łozinski's Everything May Happen). They serve as great examples of possible materials for a lecture or classes devoted to the training of the social and cultural context for foreigners.

The article Online Polish language exam for university candidates describes the new type of the exam in Polish as a foreign language which has been held at University of Wrocław since 2015. The exam is designed for candidates from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia who apply for a place at the University of Wrocław in context of the Teraz Wrocław program (an initiative of the city council and Wroclaw universities). The written and oral part of the exam is a compulsory element of the recruitment process and is held via the Internet. The article presents the concept of the exam, the stages of its preparation, administration and evaluation, the structure of the written and oral part and the results obtained by the participants in the years 2015-2016. The authors emphasize great organizational and technical challenge and the need to cooperate with various units of the University. They conclude with regard to the problems that occurred during the exam and suggest some changes to the content of the exam.
