Pastoral care of families according to Pope Francis’ teaching begins with recognizing the dangers of the modern family. A proper understanding of the environment and the realities in which the family lives make it possible to prepare an appropriate pastoral offer. The creation by pastoral caregivers of conditions for the growth and development of spouses in love for God and each other will bear fruit in the lives of their children. The pastoral care of families, which should be at the forefront of the pastoral activities of the Church and individual parishes, is to deal with pastoral discernment, adequate preparation for marriage and proper pastoral care of families and marriages.

Duszpasterstwo rodzin w świetle nauczania papieża Franciszka rozpoczyna się od dostrzeżenia zagrożeń współczesnej rodziny. Właściwe poznanie środowiska i realiów, w jakich żyje rodzina, pozwalają na przygotowanie odpowiedniej oferty duszpasterskiej. Stwarzanie przez duszpasterzy warunków wzrostu i rozwoju małżonków w miłości do Boga i do siebienawzajem, wyda owoce w życiu ich dzieci. Duszpasterstwo rodzin, które powinno być na pierwszym miejscu w działalności duszpasterskiej Kościoła i poszczególnych parafii, ma zajmować się rozeznaniem duszpasterskim, odpowiednim przygotowaniem do małżeństwa oraz właściwym duszpasterstwem rodzin i małżeństw.
