In the article were considered two ontological principles for determining existence: Cartesian coordinates and the coordinates of Dante. Cartesian coordinates, i.e., the definition through identity, through the classification and comparison of the knowable with the given field of values, is the way to define the non-self-existent. Dante's coordinates, i.e., the definition through negation, through the rejection of the given field of values, is the way to determine independent existence. The principle of Dante's coordinates reveals the ontological foundation of personal and cultural existence. Also shown are modi operandi of man in the space of Dante's coordinates.

W artykule rozpatrywane są dwie zasady ontologicznej definicji istnienia: współrzędne kartezjańskie i współrzędne Dantego. Współrzędne kartezjańskie definiują poprzez identyfikację, odniesienie i porównanie tego co jest poznawane z danym obszarem znaczeń, istnienie nie-samoistne. Współrzędne Dantego definiują poprzez zaprzeczenie, odrzucenie określonego obszaru znaczeń, istnienie samoistne. Zasada współrzędnych Dantego ujawnia ontologiczną podstawę istnienia osobistego i kulturowego. Wykazane są modi operandi człowieka w przestrzeni współrzędnych Dantego.
