The paper begins with a presumption that the Constitution of the Republic of Poland aims not only at preserving the Polish language as the official one in the public sphere – what is overtly stated in the Article 27 – but also at caring for its correct use. This aim is of a particular significance when the state organs and persons who occupy the most important positions in the state bodies are concerned. It is obvious that there exists a mutual relationship between the quality of written and spoken Polish used among top state executives and the language competence of its common users. Thus, one should not neglect the decreasing teaching level of Polish at schools, which has been reflected in lowering the requirements necessary to graduate from secondary school (nowadays, scoring as little as 30 per cent on the final test makes enough to receive the graduation certificate); with no doubt, it may result in deterioration of the condition of Polish language in general. The main thesis of the paper is that the members of Parliament should represent particularly high language skills in Polish, although it needs not be a legal obligation. However, a person to be employed as a judge or a civil servant should demonstrate high competence in Polish, so respective exams are worth considering.

In the article the author refers to legislative trends dictated by gender equality and non-discrimination, appearing clearly in most European Union countries and in the bodies of the EU. An explanation of the new trends in lawmaking requires a reference to the theory of equality, especially equality before the law and, closely related, the issues of discrimination. The author presents the problem of equality in conjunction with the theory of justice. In the light of the theoretical considerations it is possible to assess existing or proposed legislation in various fi elds. The author takes into consideration in his research, above all, legislation introducing civil partnerships and same-sex marriages, and the quotas or parities intended to increase the participation of women in representative governing bodies and in the management of companies, as well as proposals for changes in this respect. Moreover, he provides his refl ections on other legal instruments, e.g. the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. According to the author, these examples of legislation refl ect the departure from classical and accurate understanding of legal concepts, as well as undue elevation of equality construed without reference to the values and legal principles enshrined in the constitutions of many countries. It would, therefore, be advisable to initiate a wider debate on the relationship between pro-equality initiatives and the entire constitutional axiology.

Współcześnie wskazuje się na potrzebę wzajemnego rozwoju biznesu i uniwersytetów poprzez wymianę wiedzy. Artykuł niniejszy ma dwa podstawowe cele. Po pierwsze, prezentuje jeden z możliwych sposobów badania wzorów dokumentacji okresowego oceniania pracowników oraz wypracowania na tej podstawie wskazówek doskonalących system zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi. Po drugie, przedstawia propozycję współpracy środowiska akademickiego z biznesem w zakresie realizacji badań nad wyłaniającym się wzorem zarządzania ZZL. Jest to przykład niskokosztowej wymiany myśli pomiędzy praktykami a akademickimi badaczami.

The exchange of knowledge is what is being indicated today as the way forward for the mutual development of business and universities in the modern world. This article has two primary goals. First, it presents a possible way for studying employee performance appraisal documentation forms as well as the development of this as a basis of guidelines for improving the human resource management system. Second, it presents a proposal for collaboration between the academic community and business in the area of undertaking research into the emerging model of HRM. This is an example of a low–cost exchange of ideas among practitioners and academic researchers.

Today's economic reality promotes companies which are capable of creating welldesigned products and services out of creative, innovative ideas. This article is devoted to an attempt to fusion two concepts widely perceived as a contradicted, innovations and routines. The authors of the article highlight the co-existence of the relationship between innovation and routines. Additionally, the authors indicate the challenge of transition from creative idea to innovation represented by the real product or service. The paper proposes a solution - concept of Design Thinking, which equips the organization in routine enabling rapid prototyping and development of innovative products.

The goal of this study is to provide knowledge about transferring routines from parent company to subsidiary in HRM area. We review concepts and theories of routines and then conduct the research. By examining company’s best practices we show the routines transfer on the example of implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system in international company XXX. Implications of the project’s research design for interpretation of results, and for management of effective international HRM practices, are discussed.

Celem artykułu jest odkrycie praktycznych wyzwań związanych z transferem rutyn z firm-matek do ich spółek-satelit (spółek-córek) poprzez artefakty (na przykładzie wdrożenia systemu klasy ERP w obszarze zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi). Struktura artykułu jest następująca: w pierwszej sekcji dostarczamy tło teoretyczne poprzez wskazanie głównych koncepcji związanych z kulturą organizacyjną i korporacyjną. W kolejnej części opisujemy założenia teoretyczne niezbędne do zrozumienia rutyn: tego, jak się zmieniają, oraz roli, jaką artefakty odgrywają w procesie transferu rutyn. Następnie opisujemy zastosowaną w badaniach metodologię. Artykuł kończy dyskusja dotycząca rezultatów badawczych, a także rekomendacje do dalszych badań.
