Modern university should primarily teach students to think critically its purpose is to teach students to solve problems, to develop their entrepreneurial skills and more intense engagement with practice also seems desirable. Equally important is also the formation of the affective component of personality of students, active contribution to the development of their scale of values and the contribution to the development of values such as goodness, love, tolerance, understanding and so on. The author, in this paper deals, with the characteristics of the humanist-oriented university teacher and with the options of development of affective aspects of the personality of the student through the targeted categories.

Autori v prezentovanom príspevku popisujú nezastupiteľné miesto učebnice v podmienkach odborného vzdelávania. Ponúkajú návod na hodnotenie didaktickej vybavenosti a obťažnosti učebníc na príklade hodnotenia konkrétnej učebnice využívanej v podmienkach Súkromnej strednej odbornej školy. Konštatujú, že súčasný stav učebníc pre odborné predmety v podmienkach Slovenskej republiky nie je na požadovanej úrovni, pretože mnohé učebnice nesplňujú požiadavky moderných učebníc využívaných vo vyspelých krajinách sveta. Odporúčajú venovať zvýšenú pozornosť pri tvorbe nových učebníc, a to najmä z didaktického aspektu.

At present we consider education to be one of the most important permanent priorities which greatly influences the prosperity of all countries. Education should enable students to integrate into the dynamically developing society. In this regard, education is the main factor of social prosperity. Therefore, each school is responsible for the level of education they provide (Bajtoš, Orosová 2011). In our contribution, we present some selected results of the investigation focused on the observation of the didactic efficiency of the textbooks in technical education. We bring in some partial valuation results of the education quality of Economics at the Technical High School in Hlohovec. Further, we bring in the results from the didactic test achieved by a group of students. We compared the results of the students from the “standard“ class and the “experimental“ class. In the end, we outline the need of upgrading the efficiency of the educational process.

In the article authors deal with the issue of cheating in schools in Slovakia. The cheating deemed unacceptable phenomenon of the education, so their research investigation trying to identify and analyze the motives of the secondary-school students for cheating and motives that lead students to honest behavior. The authors also make the recommendations for school practice at the level of indirect preventive measures.

The purpose of the presented study is to present research conducted in the conditions of vocational education in the Slovak Republic, aimed to assess the effectiveness of the use of interactive whiteboards for teaching vocational subjects. The main method of research was the pedagogical experiment; another method used was the questionnaire method. The authors’ research findings give evidence that students obtained significantly better results in acquired knowledge and skills when interactive whiteboards were used for teaching than when taught traditionally. The authors also present recommendations for teaching practice in Slovakia.
