Moral or competent? The type of information used when selecting a partner for stimulating and instrumental risk situations

The relationship between the interpretation of a situation from the point of view of stimulating and instrumental risk, and selection of a partner in these situations was tested in the study. It was predicted that people with morality-related features would be selected for stimulating risk situations and people with efficiency-related features - for instrumental risk situations. The results confirmed the assumed relationship and are discussed from the point of view of information clearing and availability, the mini-max hypothesis and an assumption about actions aiming at achieving a goal.
