Już od lat osoby niesłyszące są przypisywane do grupy, której można by nadać miano grupy „obcej”, to do niej społeczeństwo odczuwało i zdarza się, że nadal odczuwa pewne uprzedzenia oraz kreuje określone stereotypy. Tworzenie tego typu mitów społecznych wiąże się z niedostatkiem wiedzy, jaką posiada społeczeństwo. Człowiek często nie jest w stanie wyjaśnić pewnych sytuacji, faktów, które go przerastają, dlatego szuka rozwiązań swoich przemyśleń, tworząc własne opinie, które niejednokrotnie z czasem przeradzają się w mity. Wiele osób niepełnosprawnych walczy o należną im, tak jak każdemu człowiekowi, pozycję społeczną. Osoby niesłyszące, które mają problem z przekazaniem swoich przemyśleń, emocji – zwyczajnie – językiem, przenoszą je inną drogą do swojego odbiorcy, by być zrozumianym, docenionym, równym w społeczeństwie. „Walka” to ich tworzenie.

For years deaf people have been assigned to a group, to which the name of the „foreign” group could be given, to which people felt and it happens that they still feel some prejudices and create certain stereotypes. Creating this type of social myths is linked to the scarcity of knowledge that society has. A man is often not able to explain certain situations, facts that overwhelm him, therefore he looks for solutions to his thoughts by creating his own opinions, which often turn into myths with time. Many disabled people struggle for social position, to which they are entitled, just like every human beeing. Deaf people who have trouble communicating their thoughts, emotions – simply – using language, transfer them to their recipients in a different way to be understood, appreciated and equal in society. „Fighting” is their creation.
