The article focuses on healthy longevity. The starting point is the assumption that a long and healthy life, much as it is genetically– and environmentally-dependent, is likewise related to one’s lifestyle. The text tries to indicate which elements of the lifestyle contribute to healthy longevity. To this end, the article reviews approaches and theoretical concepts on healthy ageing and provides empirical data gathered in longevity zones worldwide, called the Blue Zones by National Geographic researchers. Analysis confirmedK. Wisniewska-Roszkowska’s observations that a long and healthy life depends on a proper diet, physical activity and care for mental health. The author has suggested that the obe-sity index should be an indicator of ageing pathology.

The article deals with the model of Active Strategy of Enhancing Health (ASEH). This model is based on the conception of health as the state of integrity. In constructing the strategy charactestics of biological disfunctions connected with the process of aging were taking into account. The objectif of ASEH is to neutralize negative effects of biological aging by taking advantage of potentiality lying in psychophysical and social activity. Five factors of this activity: personalization, integrity, challenges, cooperation and personal goals are supposed to contribute to enhancing health, i.e. the state of integrity of seniors.

W artykule wybrane tezy z dzieła J. Śniadeckiego z 1805 roku „O fizycznym wychowaniu dzieci” poddano rekonstrukcji z perspektywy współczesnej wiedzy naukowej.

There are many misconceptions about what is called “integral education”. We propose an integral approach to education based on the historical thinking of John Dewey and on the more recent AQAL concept by Ken Wilber. At the centre of integral education, there is a Subject. Subject equals his/her perspective. Integral education is a process of constructing/creating perspectives in the subject. We propose that four main perspectives can be applied to the educational process and the Integral Education Matrix includes these perspectives. The matrix can be a useful tool for planning actions and outcomes in the process of education.

The article presents an analysis of Polish and Iranian (Persian, Tajik and Shughni) proverbs, idiomatic and proverbial phrases and sayings about the dog, where the dog theme is used in order to clarify certain human traits and 181Z. Błajet, P. Błajet Metafora z motywem psaphenomena of the real world. In the study an ethno-linguistic approach has been used. The Iranian examples demonstrate large similarity to Polish ones. From the perspective of the conception of the embodied-embedded mind in which metaphors are considered as a mental representations we note the existence of the unity of the human experience regardless of the differences between people living in different cultures.

The aim of the presented research results was to diagnose changes in leisure time behaviours in the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic. The acquired knowledge about changing leisure time behaviour will be used to develop programmes to promote leisure time activity for students during and after the pandemic. The respondents used the Jay B. Nash model of leisure time, which indicates 4 levels of positive use of leisure time and also includes 2 negative levels, i.e. excesses and crime. We assume that the change in leisure time behaviours during the pandemic may consist in creating more valuable forms of activity, giving not so much pleasure but satisfaction (e.g. pursuing interests, creative activity). We also assume that as a result of these changes a sense of spending time in a valuable and meaningful way during the pandemic (building health, feeling satisfied) will be created, which may result in the permanence of the behavioural changes that have occurred, which may become new health and leisure time habits.

Eugenics is the selection of desired heritable characteristics in order to improve future generations, typically in reference to humans. The article is about eugenics in historical, biological and educational aspects. The historical aspect is elaborated on and includes early eugenics, eugenics organizations, popular support for eugenics, and anti-eugenics sentiments. Despite the dropping of the term eugenics, eugenic ideas remained prevalent in many issues concerning human reproduction and genetic intervention. “New Eugenics” is a fact. “New Eugenics” includes education. Does it really?

The article aims at presenting the integral approach to the health of Polish education leaders’ (head teachers) in light of Ken Wilber’s map (four classes of factors responsible for health), in the social-ecological model of health. Material and Methods: The Matrix of ReflectivenessDevelopment, an original self-observation schedule, was applied as a research tool. 46 head teachers were examined. Results: The results show that the respondents look after their own health the least. Relaxation is something they associate with mental health, while physical health is not high on their list of priorities. Conclusions: The respondents mainly focus on professional and family lives. Very little focus is placed on reflectionand an integral approach to health. The analysis of research results highlights the challenges that education at each level, including health education, must face.

The text presents the assumptions and effects of realization of the novelty scheme of educating education leaders. The studies were realized on the basis of the authorial, innovative and integral education model. Ken Wilber’s integral model is used in creation of syllabuses in many schools and universities around the world. The results of implementation of our integral model are currently being formulated. Selected results are presented in the following report.

The article presents the problem of recreational activity of seniors with intellectual disability (ID). Members of this social group spend their old age in nursing homes – Polish social welfare institutions. Recreational activity has been presented through its features: types, forms, functions, levels and barriers. Recreational activity of seniors with ID is underresearched, as evidenced by poor literature on the subject. Recreation – defined as voluntary activity in spare time – is stereotypically meant for individuals with intellectual norm. Our research has shown that the surveyed seniors with ID voluntarily participate in recreational activities and tend to choose physical activity for leisure and play. Their recreational activity is at emotional and task level, according to J. Nash’s theory.

Aktywność rekreacyjna seniorów z niepełnosprawnością intelektualnąArtykuł przedstawia problematykę aktywności rekreacyjnej seniorów z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną (NI). Ta grupa społeczna swoją starość spędza m.in. w domu pomocy społecznej (DPS) – polskiej instytucji opiekuńczej.
