The article is focused on Czech exonyms, i.e. vernacular Czech forms of foreign toponyms, which are classified into five categories: (1) Czech (and international) exonyms displaying no resemblance to the original foreign-language names; (2) exonyms based on the original foreign-language forms which are substantially changed; (3) names preserving the original bases with changed endings; (4) exonyms with changes exclusively in spelling; (5) exonyms based on full or partial translation of the official foreign-language name.
