The essay is excerpted from a chapter of a book that is currently being written by the author. The working title of the book is Spacery po kościołach rzymskich [Walks through historical churches and temples of Rome] (Wydawnictwo Zeszytów Literackich). The present essay aims at discussing the specific character of the Christian church architecture of the city of Rome that constitutes nodes of a network that has been developing throughout one and a half millennia. Each of the chapters of the book is centered around a particular walk of the town that includes on its way the described churches. The walks cover virtually the whole of the old town and some of the adjacent palaces. The adopted method of presentation is purely personal and has a character of a “Roman diary” - to some extent, the author has been inspired by Promenades das Rome by Stendhal. The diary is, however, a particular guide book on the town for those who want to experience something else that the offer presented by standard guidebooks. Notwithstanding it subjective angle, the book does not interfere in passing the essential historical and artistic knowledge to the reader. Rome appears here to be a singular place, as a personification of one of the most important stages of Western civilization.

MUTUAL RECOGNITION OF PROTECTION MEASURES IN CIVIL MATTERS Summary The paper describes the latest EU law concerning the enhancement of the rights of victims, i.e. Regulation (EU) No 606/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 June 2013 on mutual recognition of protection measures in civil matters. In the Polish legal system there are no analogous measures, which means that the residents of Poland cannot be protected in trans-border situations unless the law is amended.

Crime Victims and the Polish Post-penitentiary Fund Following the Latest Changes Summary This paper presents a critical analysis of the provisions in force relating to the Polish Crime Victims and Post-Penitentiary Fund (Fundusz Pomocy Pokrzywdzonym oraz Pomocy Postpenitencjarnej). Recently there have been important changes in these provisions, particularly on the grounds of the Act of 28 November 2014 on the protection of and assistance to victims of crime and witnesses (Ustawa z dnia 28 listopada 2014 r. o ochronie i pomocy dla pokrzywdzonego i świadka) and the associated executive regulations of 29 September 2015 introduced by the Ministry of Justice. The scope of the Fund’s tasks has been extended to cover legal and psychological assistance to witnesses and their next-ofkin, and the rules for the financing of the Fund’s activities have been modified. Most of these changes concern the provisions relating to victims, who are now in a worse situation than before the Act came into force, which runs counter to the main purpose of Directive 2012/29/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime.

Poezja jako tożsamość osobowa u Czesława Miłosza

PL
The author brings up the problem connected with the intersection (coherence) of „personal rightness” and „poetic rightness” in Czesław Miłosz’s literary output; she endeavours to interpret his poetry as a distinct mark of personal identity. In odrer to do so she refers to such crucial contexts of Miłosz’s writing, the authos of „Ziemia Urlo” as, for instance, Polish romanticism and French writers. The sketch becomes concluded by the necessary – for the poet himself – acceptance by the others.
