All inhabitants of the planet are obligated to implement and follow the principles of sustainable development, which is why actions aimed at solving economic, social and ecological problems on a local, regional, international and global scale require the cooperation of various entities: individuals, households, enterprises, institutions, organizations, nations and countries. There is a need to shape not only the awareness of sustainable development, but also social capital conducive to coordinated cooperation. This article is an attempt to show the importance of social capital for sustainable development. It also raises issues of social awareness and the role of managers in building a responsible society and in spreading the new idea of development.
