This article describes some problems associated with two current phenomena of holiday housing. One of them is the acquiring of suite apartments, which first appeared in the Czech Republic in late 1990’s. The other is timesharing, which means the purchase of a share of time in holiday premises. Both of these forms of holiday housing have their advantages and disadvantages. This article attempts to compare their negative and positive aspects.

Článek přibližuje problematiku dvou současných fenoménů v oblasti rekreačního bydlení. Prvním z nich je nákup tzv. apartmánových rekreačních bytů, který se v Česku začal objevovat na konci 90. let 20. století. Druhým z nich je tzv. timesharing, tedy nákup časového podílu v rekreačním objektu. Každá z uvedených forem rekreačního bydlení má své výhody a nevýhody, ty jsou v článku přiblíženy, a je proveden pokus o jejich porovnání z hlediska negativ a pozitiv.
