Chilejkars are one of the most famous ethnographic groups in Slovakia. The traditional symbols of Chilejkars identity are Slovak nationality, Catholic religion, a specific dialect within the Tekov dialect, women ś folk clothing, a sense of belonging, local patriotism and the relationship to land and property. The cultural heritage of village Čajkov is currently used to different extents and in different ways. Either almost unchanged, somewhat adapted, it exists in its natural environment, or modified, with entirely different functions and opportunities, or in practical life, it has completely disappeared and exists only latently.
