It is impossible in one article to give a full account of John Paul II’s teachings on the positive impact of the media on the family and social life. A family, through their relationships with the society, is an important reality in human life. In the contemporary world the richness of the family is minimized, often rejected and even ridiculed. It is true that such tendencies are visible in the media, but on the other hand it is the media that can contribute to forming proper relationships, both within the family, thereby recognizing its value, and within the society. However, in order to achieve this the message sent by the media should be characterized by openness to others and should build the awareness within individuals of the values and respect for the other human being. It should also form, through the media, the image of freedom as an inherent value of human life. John Paul II sets the media specific tasks. On one hand, the Pope sees in them a great value, on the other hand he requires that both administrators of mass media as well as journalists respect human life, build and shape the public opinion properly and, finally, pay attention to the combination of values offered by faith and those related to culture. It is worth seeing and knowing the positive impact of the media on the family, the relationships both within the family and society. This will make it possible to use the media in a better way when building the good. But on the other hand one should not forget about the dangers the media might pose.

John Paul II’s Letter on his first pilgrimage to the Third Republic of Poland highlighted the quintessence of human being’s life. He pinpointed the agonizing history Poles suffered from during the IIWW, which resulted in many millions of casulties. He insisted on honoring the right to life for the unborn human beings, he also identified the importance of appreciating another human, and, at the same time, highlighted the aspect of righteousness in the sphere of human life. The righteousness is defined as granting the freedom to live, and, therefore, it should influence us, as well as force us to respect their lives. The aforementioned is the foundation of any rights, beginning from the Constitution. John Paul II’s Letter in Radom in 1991 regarding the human right to life still remains modernistic. Wherever is a country with no law restrictions protecting human life of its citizens, those unborn most importantly, there is civilization/nationality at danger, not only form the biological perspective, but from the moral view as well.

Selected legal aspects of the relations between the State and the Church in Poland. The Church is a community that enriches the state and particular nations. The legal regulation that concerns the community and whose aim is to ensure its freedom is also a kind of repayment of a “loan” that the state “takes out” in the Church, which in that very state is a guardian of morality and ethics. The Church acts in a given cultural, national, state reality, which is why it needs legal regulations in fulfilling its mission. In Poland, apart from The Constitution, the most important legal act regarding the coexistence between the State and the Church is the Concordat. The present study will discuss certain aspects of the Church’s mission within the latter legal regulation.

One of the vocations of a woman is to build a family life. It relates to such issues as marriage and motherhood. A woman makes a convenant with a man in the sacrament of marriage and at the same time she opens up to motherhood. She fulfills her role of a spouse, and the person responsible for upbringing a child or children. She has a unique place in the family, thanks to her femininity. The aforementioned upbringing of children relates to educating young people. Showing them feminine kind of sensitivity, preparing them to accept religious and moral principles. All of this is underpinned by the aforementioned femininity in which you can see sensitivity and care, based on unique woman’s features. The modern world should appreciate or properly rediscover a woman’s role in the family. The role of a wife, building the marital relationship with her husband and the role of a mother opening to a new life and consequently educating her children.

The family is the union of two people whose relationship aims, among other things, at having children. The relationship built within the smallest cells of society, but also relationship affected by external factors. One of these external factors is the statutory law, including the constitution. The Polish Constitution with its regulations and principles protects the rights of both the child and family well-being. These rules, which form the basis of other legislative acts, should be respected and interpreted in the appropriate way. Pope John Paul II emphasized that family and children are the most important values for humanity. In papal teaching the protection of the family is discussed frequently and from many different angles. Modern Poland needs the family to exist. Hence one should not only listen to the voice of the Holy Father, but also explore the papal teachings on the family and children in Poland in subsequent research.

Pope Francis, in his first encyclical Lumen fidei pays attention to one of the most important values in human life which is truth. A human being develops fully thanks to this value that affects all aspects of human life. Hence, Pope’s words in the encyclical were used to relate to mass media. The truth about man and the world that surrounds him should underpin the world of media, especially these days. As a result, people would be able to develop their potential fully and pursue the objective of their lives. In order to make the road complete faith and love should coexist, because these values complement each other.
