Catechism for youth Youcat beats records of popularity. The first empirical study of its reception among the young Polish people been carried out. At the Institute of Pastoral Theology and Catechetics at the Catholic University of Lublin John Paul II P. Ścisłowicz defended his doctoral thesis on this topic. The study showed a high percentage of young people who respond positively to the content and form of Youcat. Results at 70% approval by the youth probably will not be better for a long time. On the other hand, catechists education process will be very long. They need to understand that Youcat will not replace textbooks for the teaching of the Catholic religion in schools, because it is only complementary. It is also about the entry in the digital world where young people spend a lot of time. There is a need for education for catechists on Youcat media project. It is necessary to fully understand this book, with all its history of creation, with its new language, drawings, photographs, definitions, quotes and all the potential transmission of the faith in the modern world of young people. With this project, the living faith of young people and the living faith of the pastors of the Church Benedict XVI is strictly bound.

Since the martyrdom of Archbishop Josaphat Kuncewicz have already passed 390 years and 90 years since the release of the encyclical of Pius XI “Ecclesiam Dei” issued on the occasion of 300th anniversary of the death of the saint. Josaphat Kuncewicz is known as a reformer of religious life in Ukraine and Belarus. He led in his archdiocese deep reformist activity, both administrative as pastoral, focused on raising the intellectual and moral level of the clergy. He also prepared Catechism, which can be categorized as small catechism. Due to its content and form it was a simple tool which allowed for synthetic learning of the basic truths of the faith and principles of Christian life. Originality of the Kuncewicz’s Catechism is to show the Eastern tradition in a catechism, which had the structure of the western tradition.

In the history of Poland, the Left’s attacks on the presence of religious symbols, especially crosses in public space, or its attempts to remove the teaching of the Roman Catholic religion from public schools, are a kind of litmus test of a broader problem that allows one to test the public’s reaction as to whether one can already begin to realise one’s main political goal of completely removing the Church from the life of the state and the nation. The subject of the fight against religion in the public space is a process that has its main origins in the black years of communism, and whose proponents cultivate the traditions of those times, using the same language and similar methods. The analyses undertaken in this paper aim to seek answers: who led the main left-wing crusades against the Cross and the teaching of Roman Catholicism in public school, and what characterises the various stages of this battle for minds and souls? Where sources found allowed, the answer also applies to the Diocese of Siedlce.
