In my text, I try to show a wide range of issues relating to gender education – neglected and at the same time a significant branch of education in general. I try to trace how the education systems based on constructs of identity – that require clear rules of gender and sexual affiliation, but also political, ethnic and many others, are constructed and reproduced in the Polish reality. Using a social perspective, queer strategies and narrative theory, I try to explain the concept of education prepared by the culturalist Jerome Bruner, and indicate (using my own teaching experience), the strengths and weaknesses of that concept. I also try to identify the specific possibility of using generic education in the spirit of Bruner – and also demonstrate a great need to change the paradigm of education in Poland, which has a neverending crisis.
