The text deals with the topic of an international series of workshops initiated by Antje Ehman and Harun Farocki in 2011 under the auspices of the Goethe Institute and dedicated to the issue of labour. At present, ten workshops have been conducted of a planned fifteen (including Hanoi, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Cairo, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Geneva and Lisbon). Łódź, representing Poland, was the ninth-place city. The Polish version of the workshop was attended by visual artists from the National Film School. The results of the workshop will be exhibited at the October exposition in 2013 and the Łódź Museum of Art. The curators of the project are Aleksandra Jach and Joanna Sokołowska

Artykuł jest poświęcony jednemu z bardziej płodnych działań na obrazie – loopingowi. Autorka wybrała do analizy trzy typy loopingu: zapętlenie oparte na oświeceniowej idei encyklopedycznego porządkowania za pomocą „ruchomej klasyfikacji”, looping jako rytmiczne nawarstwienie repetytywnych elementów według zasady intensyfikacji lub zagęszczenia oraz looping jako abstrakcyjna forma oparta na transie. Naczelną i najbardziej sensotwórczą cechą organizującą strategię loopingową jest ruch. W pierwszym przypadku kolekcjonowanie osobliwych momentów buduje serię encyklopedii kinematograficznej. Zagęszczenie zaś, nawiązujące do Freudowskiej "Verdichtung", zarządza zasadą repetycji pojawiającej się wielokrotnie w różnych konfiguracjach w takich filmach, jak "Pièce Touchée". W loopingu opartym na transie i abstrakcji akcent pada na proces. Selektywność zawarta w seryjnych frazach loopingu wynosi myślenie o obrazie w przestrzeń form abstrakcyjnych i pozaobrazowych.

The article is devoted to one of the most prolific methods of working with image – namely looping. The author considers three types of looping: looping based on the Enlightenment concept of encyclopaedic ordering using the „moving classification”, looping as a rhythmic accumulation of repetitive elements according to the principle of intensification and density, and looping as an abstract form based on trance. The guiding and organising principle of looping strategy is movement. In the first instance the collection of odd moments creates a series of cinematographic encyclopaedia. Whereas density, by referring to Freud’s "Verdichtung", manages the principle of repetition, that appears in many configurations in films such as "Pièce Touchée". In open looping based on trance and abstraction the accent falls on the process. The selectiveness contained in a series of phrases of looping makes it possible to appreciate the image in an abstract, none-image based dimensions.
