LEW TOŁSTOJ JAKO PREKURSOR BOLSZEWIZMU Streszczenie Fakt, że Lew Tołstoj w znacznym stopniu ideowo przygotował bolszewizm, stało się dla wielu (O. Spengler, S. Frank) oczywiste po Październiku 1917. Korzenie tego „prebolszewizmu” tkwiły w światopoglądzie pisarza: jego antyhistoryzmie (negacji ideałów Europy oraz dziejów Rosji), odrzuceniu instytucji państwa, Cerkwi, kulturowym nihilizmie, apologii prostego ludu i kulcie pracy fi zycznej. Ekstremistyczny moralista stał się, chyba wbrew swoim intencjom, sojusznikiem najbardziej nieludzkiego systemu. LEV TOLSTOY AS A FORERUNNER OF BOLSHEVISM Summary It became obvious for many (O. Spengler, S. Frank) after October 1917 that, to a considerable degree, Lev Tolstoy prepared bolshevism ideologically. That ‘prabolshevism’ traced its roots back to the writer’s world view: to his antihistorism (the negation of Europe’s ideals and history of Russia), rejection of the institutes of the state, rejection of Orthodox Church, cultural nihilism, apology of common people and cult of physical work. The extremist moralist became, against his own intentions, an ally of the most inhumane system.
