There are numerous challenges facing Poland’s local education boards. The aim of this article is to discuss the main problems and the amendments required to the country’s legislation to remedy them. The biggest challenges come from recentralization and underfunding by local authorities. Recentralization should be stopped and adequate sources of educational financing must be found. Another challenge is the provision of education for Ukrainian refugees, especially as regards the amendment of sub-constitutional legal provisions required to secure the right conditions to cater for the needs. The last challenge discussed in the article is the regulation of elective home education (home schooling).

Współczesna samorządowa administracja oświatowa mierzy się z licznymi zagrożeniami. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie i omówienie głównych zagrożeń wraz z ukazaniem potrzebnych zmian prawnych. Jako najważniejsze zagrożenia wskazane zostały zjawiska recentralizacji i niedofinansowania realizacji oświatowych zadań przez jednostki samorządu terytorialnego. Za niezbędne uznano powstrzymanie zjawiska recentralizacji i ustalenie adekwatnych do potrzeb źródeł finansowania zadań. Jako następne zagrożenie został wskazany problem kształcenia Ukraińców, a zwłaszcza konieczność dostosowania przepisów podkonstytucyjnych, które zapewniłyby przestrzeganie obowiązków oświatowych w tej grupie ludności. Ostatnim omówionym zagrożeniem jest stwarzająca wiele niejasności i wymagająca zmiany regulacja przepisów dotyczących edukacji domowej.
