The article analyses first names in Moravian Dialectal Dictionary. Great deal of attention is devoted espetial to hypocoristics – non-standard forms of first names. The athor analyses the given material especially from word-formative and socioonomastic point of view.
The author concentrates on the specific features of hypocoristics, taking into account not only linguistic, but also sociological, psychological and other relevant facts. Especially the analysis of hypocoristics from the point of view of communication and pragmatics seems to be extremely important.
Analysing of the personal names from the 16th century tax registers, the author tries to answer some questions concerning the development of the anthroponymical system in the Czech society of the given period. In contrast to historical studies, the tax registers are presented as important not only from social and economic points of view, but especially as a source important from onomasiological and onomastic standpoint.
