In the architectural history of Rivne (Pol.: Równe), a Volhynian city (now Ukraine) An important place was occupied by the palace and gardens created in the second half of the 18th century under the auspices of one of the most wealthy magnate families of pre-partition Poland: the Lubomirskis. Knowledge on this residence is significantly increased by a map from 1797 bearing the title: Plan du Chateau, Jardins, Parc & d’une partie de la Ville de Rowno, which was carried out by the architect employed by the Lubomirskis, Jean Jacob Bourgignon and ended up in the St. Petersburg Russian State Historic Archives. The author’s main interest was to record in detail the palace and layout of constructions belonging to the gardens.
