The article focuses on the initial period of World War I, specifically the arrival of Russian soldiers in various towns and villages of Galicia. It presents the behaviors of individual priests and nuns during this challenging period of their lives. The article also discusses the tasks and responsibilities of military chaplains assigned to serve among military formations on the front lines, as well as those who were deployed to hospitals to minister to the wounded and suffering.

Artykuł koncentruje się na początkowym okresie I wojny światowej, w momencie wkraczania do poszczególnych miejscowości Galicji żołnierzy rosyjskich. Przedstawione zostały zachowania księży oraz sióstr zakonnych w trudnym okresie ich życia. Omówiono także zadania i obowiązki, jakie spoczywały na kapelanach wojskowych przydzielonych do służby wśród formacji wojskowych na froncie oraz tych, którzy zostali skierowani do szpitali w celu posługiwania rannym i cierpiącym.
