Due to parents’ interest, educational centres have been being created in their communities. There is a strong motivation, apart from teaching the Slovak language and maintaining it, to attend these centres and to prepare school age children for commission examinations - a prerequisite for their further education, for a higher level of education in Slovakia or for completing their compulsory education. Educational centres in Slovak communities are irreplaceable. Apart from educational activities regarding tuition and maintaining the mother language, they organize cultural events, meetings of parents who share their experiences, and also various lectures to provide information about life in the host country.
