The paper is devoted to analysis of a manuscript compiled in the early 20th century, written in Church-Slavonic, from a rare book collection of the Laboratory of Studies in Archaeography of the Ural Federal University. It reflects the discussion of the Russian Old Believers about possibility of marriages in absence of clergy men, which demanded denial of sacrament of the wedding. In the course of analysis of the manuscript it was found that this manuscript was compiled by L. A. Grebnev - a well-known leader of Theodosian concordance of Vyatka region. The manuscript shows that position of Vyatka Theodosians (who accepted the possibility of marriages without the sacrament of wedding) regarding the matter of marriages is in the opposition to the view of Theodosian ideologists. The paper shows that this manuscript was based on the text of the book “The Collection of Essays on Marriages...”, compiled by the hegumen of Voinov monastery Pavel Prusskiy and printed by his disciple K. Golubov in Iohannsesburg, 1863. Not only does the paper include a comparative analysis of the handwritten and printed book, but also a detailed scientific description of the manuscript.
