The present study investigates the adverse experiences of students in music schools. It examines their potential effects on adult functioning, along with indicating the similarities between the reported symptoms and those characteristic of complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (cPTSD). This qualitative inquiry involves six music school graduates who participated in in-depth interviews focusing on their educational experiences and relationships with teachers and mentors. The findings reveal the existence of potentially traumatic experiences, including instances of physical and psychological violence, in the course of education. Concurrently, it is essential to acknowledge that this area warrants further investigation employing strong research methodologies.
