The province of South Prussia, existing in the years 1793–1807, was formed from lands seized by Prussia as a result of the partitions of the Republic of Poland. Prussian authorities introduced a new system of managing the seized territories. Therefore, numerous edicts were issued, concerning various areas of social and economic life, including state medical care. One example of such a regulation was the publication of a recipe for anti-rabies medicine. The document contains a description of the ingredients, preparation method and dosage of a medicine aiming to treat rabies 100 years before Louis Pasteur developed a vaccine for this disease.

Prowincja Prusy Południowe, istniejąca w latach 1793-1807, utworzona została z ziem zagarniętych przez Prusy w wyniku rozbiorów Rzeczypospolitej. Władze pruskie wprowadziły nowy system zarządzania zdobytymi terytoriami. W związku z tym wydawane były liczne edykty dotyczące rozmaitych dziedzin życia społecznego i gospodarczego, w tym opieki medycznej państwa. Jednym z przykładów takiego rozporządzenia była publikacja przepisu na lekarstwo przeciwko wściekliźnie. Dokument zawiera opis składników, sposób przygotowania oraz dawkowania medykamentu mającego na celu leczenie wścieklizny na 100 lat przed opracowaniem przez Ludwika Pasteura szczepionki na tę chorobę.
