The aim of the presented article is to show the role of different forms and types of activity of elderly people in the aspect of emerging crises of old age. The article has a review character. The presented content focuses on the needs that can be satisfied through activity in old age, discusses the problems and crises of elderly people, which on the one hand can discourage them from getting older.It discusses the problems and crises of the elderly, which, on the one hand, can discourage people from becoming active, on the other, act as a motivating factor for change.

Celem prezentowanego artykułu jest ukazanie roli różnych form i rodzajów aktywności osób starszych w aspekcie pojawiających się kryzysów starości. Artykuł ma charakter przeglądowy. W prezentowanych treściach skoncentrowano się na potrzebach, które poprzez aktywność w wieku senioralnym mogą być zaspakajane, omówiono problemy i kryzysy osób starszych, które z jednej strony mogą zniechęcać do podejmowania aktywności, z drugiej, pełnią rolę czynnika motywującego do zmiany.

The article focuses on presenting the scope of activities and tasks of senior policy. The first part of the article presents the most important documents of an international nature that shaped senior policy on the world stage. Then discussed the two most important documents that shape the Polish senior policy. In the next part of the article, in order to illustrate specific solutions, the activities of the city of Opole in the context of active senior citizen policy were shown.

W artykule skoncentrowano się na zaprezentowaniu zakresu działań i zadań polityki senioralnej. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano najważniejsze dokumenty o charakterze międzynarodowym, które kształtowały politykę senioralną na arenie światowej. Następnie omówione dwa najważniejsze dokumenty, które kształtują polską politykę senioralną. W dalszej części artykułu, aby zobrazować konkretne rozwiązania, ukazano działania miasta Opola w kontekście aktywnej polityki senioralnej.
