W artykule przedstawiono przejawy i skutki globalizacji szkolnictwa wyższego. Omówiono problemy edukacji na poziomie wyższym w Polsce, a także przedyskutowano popularne stereotypy dotyczące krajowego szkolnictwa wszystkich szczebli, sposobów oceny dorobku naukowego czy roli wyższych uczelni. Przedstawiono propozycję organizacji systemu szkolnictwa wyższego odpowiadającego potrzebom naszego kraju w globalizującym się świecie.

The symptoms and consequences of the globalisation of higher education are presented. The tertiary education problems in Poland are covered, as well as popular stereotypes concerning national education on all levels, approaches to evaluation of academic achievement, and roles played by universities were discussed. A concept of the organisation of the higher education system in Poland, reflecting its needs in the global world, was proposed.
