Rodzina uważana jest za najbliższe człowiekowi, naturalne środowisko życia, rozwoju i wychowania dziecka. Rodzina spełnia wiele funkcji, wśród których możemy wyróżnić m.in.: funkcję opiekuńczo-wychowawczą, socjalizacyjną, materialno-ekonomiczną, kulturalną, emocjonalną i inne. Na funkcję opiekuńczo-wychowawczą, składa się m.in.: organizacja czasu wolnego, nauka samoobsługi, zaspokojenie potrzeb psychicznych i społecznych poszczególnych członków rodziny. W obecnych czasach wiele rodzin przeżywa kryzys emocjonalny, zaburzone są relacje międzypokoleniowe, co w konsekwencji prowadzi do trudności wychowawczych. Rodzina nie zawsze sobie radzi w wypełnianiu przypisanych jej funkcji. Pomoc społeczna, w myśl ustawy o wspieraniu rodziny i systemie pieczy zastępczej na rzecz wspierania rodzin przeżywających trudności opiekuńczo-wychowawcze, oferuje wiele form pomocy dla tych rodzin. Jednakże nie zawsze są one wystarczające. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie innych, wspierających rodzinę programów realizowanych przez GOPS w Lubiczu.

The family is considered the closest environment for people, a natural habitat of the proper development and education of the child. The family performs a lot of functions, including: care, education, socialization, fulfilling the economic and emotional needs and many other. The proper education and care functions consist in organisation of the free time, teaching self-care, fulfilling psychical and social needs of the family members. Nowadays, many families are experiencing an emotional crisis, intergenerational relationships are disturbed, which in turn leads to educational difficulties. The family not always can perform its functions. Social assistance under the Act on family support and foster care system to support families experiencing care and education difficulties, offers many forms of help for these families. However, they are not always enough. The aim of the article is to present other family-supporting programs implemented by GOPS in Lubicz.
