The article is an attempt to indicate the factors determining the processes which may become the beginning of desirable changes in the Roman Catholic Church in Poland today, directed towards a real and authentic community of faith “koinonia”, both in the visible and spiritual reality. This is a theological-sociological study, the methodology of which is based on an analysis aimed at a social – creative diagnosis. In this analysis, scientific publications (theological, sociological) and press articles were used. Opinions and statements of people (mainly people of the Church, scientists, publicists, and journalists), presented in different mass media – in the Roman Catholic Church in Poland today – were also taken into consideration.

Artykuł jest próbą wskazania czynników determinujących procesy, które mogą stać się zaczątkiem pożądanych zmian w Kościele rzymskokatolickim dzisiejszej Polski, ukierunkowanych na prawdziwą i autentyczną wspólnotę wiary – „koinonię”, zarówno w rzeczywistości widzialnej, jak i duchowej. Jest to studium teologiczno-socjologiczne, którego metodologia oparta jest na analizie ukierunkowanej na diagnozę społeczną – kreatywną. W analizie wykorzystano publikacje naukowe (teologiczne, socjologiczne) i artykuły prasowe. Uwzględniono też opinie i wypowiedzi osób (głównie ludzi Kościoła, nauki oraz publicystów i dziennikarzy), prezentowane w różnych środkach masowego przekazu na temat Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego w dzisiejszej Polsce.
