W pracy nauczyciela akademickiego obok kompetencji merytorycznych bardzo ważne są kompetencje komunikacyjne. Kompetencje te wyrażają się w skuteczności zachowań werbalnych i pozawerbalnych. Przejawia je nauczyciel, który ma wiedzę dotycząca komunikowania i potrafi wykorzystać ją dla celów edukacyjnych, umie nawiązywać i podtrzymywać kontakt ze studentami, właściwie odbierać przekazy, potrafi także stosownie do sytuacji posłużyć się parajęzykowymi środkami wyrazu.

In the academic teacher working next to professional competence very important are communication skills. These competencies are expressed in the effectiveness of verbal and non-verbal behavior. It manifests teacher who is knowledgeable concerning communication and is able to use it for educational purposes, knows how to make and maintain contact with the students, actually receive messages, can also use appropriate to paralingual forms of expression.

The condition for the success of the sessions carried out in i-Lab (innovation laboratory) is to create free and unfettered atmosphere, inspiring to invent the greatest number of ideas. For this purpose, innovation laboratory uses brainstorming method of collaborative search for solutions. Each participant of the session can anonymously report a lot of the strangest ideas that are not immediately evaluated by others. Deferred evaluation is to encourage everyone to freely and un-conventional thinking.
