The article analyses the 'old' concept of multiculturalism, emphasizing exclusively ethnic aspects of the phenomenon and the 'new', wide notion of multiculturalism, including new categories of social strangers. The author asks questions about the current practice in the area of new multiculturalism in Poland. Referring to the educational project 'Gender meetings', relations between multiculturalism, gender and queer issues are examined. According to the author, queer strategies are one of the possible practical means that can be successfully used in a multicultural society.
