The article is devoted to the analysis of the English translation of Wojna polsko-ruska pod flagą biało-czerwoną by Dorota Masłowska, published in Poland in 2002. The inquiry is situated in the context of the postcolonial theory of translation and is conducted from the perspective of the receiving culture. The research reveals that Benjamin Paloff, in the process of translation, favoured domestication over the foreignization strategy, which caused partial obliteration of the source culture in the translated text.

Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie tłumaczenia na język angielski wydanej w Polsce w roku 2002 Wojny polsko-ruskiej pod flagą biało-czerwoną autorstwa Doroty Masłowskiej. Badanie usytuowano w kontekście postkolonialnej teorii przekładu i przeprowadzono z perspektywy kultury przyjmującej. Dokonana analiza prowadzi do wniosków, że Benjamin Paloff, podejmując decyzje translatorskie, częściej wybierał metodę udomowienia niż egzotyzacji, co spowodowało częściowe zatarcie w przekładzie cech kultury źródłowej obecnych w oryginale.
