Il permesso di soggiorno: il primo ostacolo linguistico per gli stranieri

Questo studio indaga quanto sono accessibili agli stranieri i fogli informativi scritti in italiano per la richiesta del permesso di soggiorno, considerato che la mancata o parziale comprensione dei testi potrebbe causare conseguenze negative per la loro vita. I risultati mostrano, dal punto di vista lessicale, quanto è potenzialmente difficile comprendere questi testi: nel corpus, solo circa il 10% dei lemmi sono appartenenti al livello del QCER A2 e il 33% dei lemmi sono appartenenti al vocabolario di base, definito da De Mauro nel Grande Dizionario Italiano dell’Uso.

This study explores the accessibility to foreigners of the information written in Italian on how to apply for a residence permit, considering the negative consequences that failure or partial comprehension of the texts could have on their lives. The results show, from the lexical viewpoint, how potentially difficult it might be to understand these texts: in the corpus used, only approximately 10% of the lemmas correspond to the CEFR A2 level and 33% of the lemmas fall within the basic vocabulary, as defined by De Mauro in the Grande Dizionario Italiano dell’Uso.
