The article presents a few possibilities of using the passage from Ovid’s autobiographical elegy during Latin-language classes. On the one hand, different grammatical and lexical aspects of the passage are pointed out, on the other, fundamental terms concerning poetics and the meter are discussed. Cultural references and varied contextual readings may also be of interest to students. The author seeks the literary techniques employed in Ovid’s autobiographical elegy in the works of such writers as Boethius, Seneca, Dante Alighieri, Geoffrey Chaucer, Alexander Pushkin, Lord Byron, Osip Mandelstam, or Adam Zagajewski. In addition, information about Ovid’s birthplace is presented.

W artykule przedstawiono kilka możliwości wykorzystania elegii autobiograficznej Owidiusza (Tr. IV 10, 1–8) na zajęciach z języka łacińskiego. Z jednej strony zwrócono uwagę na różne aspekty gramatyczno-leksykalne zawarte we fragmencie, z drugiej zaś – omówiono podstawowe terminy z zakresu poetyki i metryki. Interesujące dla słuchaczy mogą się również okazać nawiązania kulturowe, jak i odczytania kontekstowe. Autor poszukuje tropów literackich występujących w elegii autobiograficznej Owidiusza w twórczości takich pisarzy, jak Boecjusz, Seneka, Dante Alighieri, Geoffrey Chaucer, Aleksander Puszkin, Lord Byron, Osip Mandelsztam czy Adam Zagajewski. Dodatkowo zostały przedstawione informacje na temat miejsca narodzin Owidiusza.
