The lecture of the award winners from the Institute of West Slavonic Studies of Leipzig University, Danuta Rytel-Schwarz and Wolfgang F. Schwarz. Well-known sentence “How many languages you know, so many times you are a human being” (Polish: “Ile znasz języków, tylekroć jesteś człowiekiem”, Czech: “Kolik jazyků znáš, tolikrát jsi člověkem”, German: “Wie viele Sprachen du sprichst, so viel Mal bist du Mensch”) in an interesting way presents crossing of three languages, cultures and literatures. The functioning of this sentence, which propagates advantages of multilingualism, confirms vagueness of borderlines and merging of the language elements of Polish, Czech and German languages.
