The analysis of two constitutional laws – Polish (1935) and French (1958) – shows significant similarity of structural solutions concerning the head of state. The considerations in this article does not strictly pertain to the analysis of the President's competences but concerns also structural role of President in these acts, its attitude towards other bodies, as well as origin and general assumptions of these two Constitutions.

Analiza dwóch ustaw konstytucyjnych - polskiej z 1935 r. i francuskiej z 1958 r. - pokazuje znaczne podobieństwo w przyjętych w tych aktach rozwiązaniach ustrojowych dotyczących głowy państwa. Rozważania w powyższym artykule nie ograniczyły się jedynie do analizy kompetencji prezydenta, ale wiele uwagi poświecono również roli ustrojowej prezydenta w omawianych aktach oraz jego stosunkowi do innych organów, nie zapominając o przedstawieniu genezy i ogólnych założeń obydwu konstytucji.
