In this paper the model of ordered fuzzy numbers is shortly presented. The new model of fuzzy numbers makes possible to deal with fuzzy inputs quantitatively, exactly in the same way as with real numbers. In next step is shown an application of OFN in the modeling of an economic variables, like total revenue and total cost.

The paper briefly discusses the new model of fuzzy numbers i.e. Ordered Fuzzy Numbers (OFN), and its usefulness to present stock prices. Similar to the candlestick chart, Ordered Fuzzy Numbers make it possible to simultaneously depict four stock prices: open, close, minimum and maximum. OFN also allows easy calculation of technical analysis indexes, which are, at the same time, established for the four aforementioned prices, and which is illustrated by means of a Simple Moving Average (SMA).

The paper presents an analysis of the impact of normalization techniques on the ranking of alternatives obtained using the combined compromise solution (CoCoSo) method. Similarity measures known from the literature and a new measure called the TOPSIS similarity measure (TOPSIS-SM) are used to assess the resulting rankings. This new measure is based on the TOPSIS algorithm, where the arithmetic mean of the considered rankings is taken as the ideal solution. In contrast, the antiideal solution is divided into a minimum and a maximum solution, which exhibit maximum separation from the ideal solution. The results obtained by this new method are different from those obtained using other similarity measures known from the literature.

The fixed order quantity model of inventory management system is used in the deterministic part. Several elements of inventory cost, such as ordering cost, transportation and storing costs, frozen capital cost, as well as extra rebates, are taken into account in the model. Then the fuzzy optimization problem for the total cost function is formulated within the space of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers when all variables of the model are fuzzy. After the choice of a particular defuzzification functional an appropriate theorem is formulated which gives the solution of the problem.

Celem badania jest porównanie wykorzystania trójkątnych liczb rozmytych skierowanych (OFNs) i wypukłych (CFNs) w rozmytej metodzie SAW (FSAW). Dodatko-wo badano wykorzystanie, w celu otrzymania uporządkowania liniowego obiektów, dwóch metod wyostrzania: metody środka ciężkości (CoG) oraz metody opartej na transformacie Mellina. Praca zawiera podstawę teoretyczną prowadzonych badań oraz poglądowy przy-kład numeryczny. W wyniku analiz stwierdzono, że użycie trójkątnych OFNs w metodzie FSAW nie daje dodatkowych korzyści, gdyż nie wpływa na wyniki uporządkowania obiek-tów. Ponadto w wyniku agregacji mogą się pojawić niewłaściwe OFNs, co z kolei nie po-zwala na zastosowanie metody wyostrzania opartej na transformacie Mellina, która jak po-kazano jest metodą bardziej precyzyjną od metody CoG.
