In the methodics of organization changes, a stage connected with evaluation of their effects has not received sufficient attention so far. Significance and degree of complexity of such an evaluation are especially important when reorganization aims not only at enhanced efficiency. A thesis has been acccpted in this artice that reorganization performed as a result of introduction of new work organization forms should result simultaneously in improvement of physical and social conditions, as well as efficiency and economic conditions in the functioning of an enterprise. Thus, alongside humanistic aspects of reorganization there should appear a positive difference between outlays made on it and benefits obtained owing to it. In th is connection, the article presents experience In the field of choosing ingredients composing evaluation of effectiveness of changes, and in attempts at such an evaluation made in Great Britain and Franee proceeding from an assumption that they may constitute not only examples but also methodological guidelines for activity in the Polish conditions.

The article deals with a synthetic review of previous studies on changes, with a special attention paid to studies conducted in organizations. Among contemporary research orientations, there have been distinguished two opposite views. According to the first one, each change may be described in deterministic categories, while according to the second view such a description is not possible, because a change may ho understood only through games played by participants of an o rganization. Thu review of studies on changes presented in the article provides an illustration for the proposed distinction made between views taking also into account elements of their historical division.

The article discusses the problem of accuracy of social studies аз a general methodological category, i.e. a category being significant, in the authors opinion, for each methodology and also at all stages of a research process starting from conceptualization to formulation of final conclusions, both in empirical studies and those based on literature of the subject. It is not a description of some theory of accuracy but rather an attempt at compilation of knowledge about social sciences. Against the background of sources of this methodological category - empiricist trends, the author points out constraints to accuracy and puts forward proposals how to eliminate them. They concern conduct within the framework of the methodology of empiricism, as well as a broader and more reliable utilization of achievements of the humanistic trend.
