The article contains a presentation of the method of optimal estimation of the metallic charge in a foundry applying the computer technique. It starts with a short description of the technological process in a foundry, which provides an insight into the important problem being a subject of this study. The author points at two methods of the metallic charge estimation: - method of linear programming, - simulation method. Both methods can be relatively easily computerized. Thanks to that the process of the charge estimation becomes shortened while the results obtained ensure good quality of cast iron possessing the best economical and qualitative characteristics. The linear programming method possesses many advantages and disadvantages briefly analyzed in the article. For this reason we are presenting a method which allows for elimination of drawbacks attributed to the linear programming method. The method, we mean here, is the simulation method. Joint application of the linear programming and simulation methods allows to achieve a solution guaranteeing production of cast iron characterized with a relatively best quality and lowest production costs. Application of the simulation method assumes submitting many acceptable variants obtained on the way of the linear programming method to the simulation procedure and selection of the best variant. That, however, does not afford any bigger difficulties as the application of an electronic digital machine for calculation makes it possible to perform this task within a short time. The presented methods of metallic charge estimation can be applied not only in every foundry but also in steel works etc.

In the article there are presented sources and main direction of systems researches. Attention is paid to common aspects of basic assumptions and differences between detailed theorems of particular research trends. Due to diversification of systems there arises a need for their classification and closer definition of definite systems classes. Thus, for example, the article discusses social systems with emphasis laid on their specific features and unique characteristics.

Limited nature of production capacities accompanied by growth of demand for carpets does not allow for full satisfaction of the effective demand for these products. Bettor market supply can be promoted through extension and modernization of the plant, improvement of production technology and. introduction of better organizational solutions. The article presents a way of optimal utilization of production capacities in a weaving mill of one of carpet factories. The quoted model and algorithm of its solution are to provide a basis for construction of assortment production plans and production capacity utilization plans of machinery and equipment. There was made an attempt at definition of these plans by means of network methods. On the mathematical side the problem was formulated in the form of linear programming problem in the solution of which there was applied the Simplex method. After making all computation on the Odra 1304 computer, there was performed an analysis which revealed a "bottle neck" in the production process, the elimination of which calls for technological and organizational changes. The analysis was not aimed at providing a solution in the form of ready-made assortment production plans but only at suggestion of the method and its verification in the basis of obtained information and own estimates.

The article constitutes a continuation of an earlier work on "Management and Information Systems - Practical Example" published in the monthly "Wektory” 1974, 12 , In which there was presented an ideal project of information system constructed with application of Nadler’s ideal stąndards method. In tho present article the authors discuss the extent to which the ideal solution differed from reality, and extent of modifications to which tho original model of the system was submitted. They also analyze causes of these far-reaching raodificationn.

The article constitutes an attempt at construction of a scheme for researches on factors and relations occuring between them, which determine organizational solutions of contemporary industrial systems treated as relatively isolated cybernetic systems. Organization is treated as a system or a set of interlinked subsystems and relations occuring between them. Proceeding from the systems position there are generally distinguished two sets of variables, which should be taken into consideration in researches. These are intra-org»nization variables i.e. tasks, people, technology, organizational structure, and variables of organization's context i.e. the environment treated in its many aspects. Each of these variables was defined and there are discussed its ties with the remaining subsystems. Changes occuring within the organization are analyzed at two levels: adaptation of the system to the environment co-operating with it, and preservation of equilibrium between variables within the organization. A great deal of attention is paid by the author to analysis of potential correlations occuring between the above mentioned variables. Advisability of existence of industrial systems drew, however, the author's attention to the problem of formation of real states and relations between variables, which should be a result of consciously made decisions. Fulfilment of this postulate accounted for addition to the model of relations between the distinguished variables of the subsystem "managerial decisions", which should perform within the organization a function of steering agent in the field of shaping desirable states and relations between the analyzed subsystems from the viewpoint of implementation of the set targets.

The author formulates guidelines of methods of information systems designing. Implementation of these guidelines should contribute to bridging the gap of immunological organization and acceptance of the system. Next, there are briefly discussed selected methods of designing i.e. Nadler's method, McDonougi's analytical model, J. Graham’s procedure, Buachardt's block method, and diagnostic method. The discussed methods are then submitted to comparative analysis from the point of view of fulfilment of the earlier mentioned guldelines.

The prooass encompassing research and development projects is called the creative process as it basically consists in creation of new phenomena in the economy. Unsatisfactory functioning of this process called attention to causes producing this situation. The article aims at presentation of some factors determining anooth functioning of the creative process. One of the main causes accounting for unsatisfactory functioning of this process is selection of members of teams implementing this process, orgmization of these teams, and applied methods of teams motivation, which are not correlated with specific features of the creative process. Proper correlation of the above mentioned factors with each other and with characteristic features of the process is a prerequisite of smooth functioning of the creative process.

Ip the article there is presented a concrete example of the detailed project of Production Planning ayonda. It constitutes a subsystem of an aggregate Information Management SyBtem of the industrial company designed by application of Nadler’s ideal standards method. The key idea in designing the agenda was a wish to strengthen key decisional processes - which the planning processes undoubtedly represent for the company - with computer techniques. There was made an attempt, an such utilization of the computer which would allow to increase substantially mental capacities of planners through experimentation by means of mathematical models. Among others there were applied here the following mathematical models. - taxonomic model of products evaluation, - linear prograaming model of generating the production assortment programme, - dynamic programming model of production flows planning. Such construction of the agenda asema to be securing possibilities of introducing relatively frequent changes in its project, which makes an essential feature of a good plan.

Application of complex solutions in information systems created a need of provision, within a short time, of data being often created in very distant sources as well as a noad of transmitting data processing results over long distances. At present we do not possess yet a sufficient experience in realization and exploitation of electronic data processing systems combined with data transmission. This article contains an analysis of the data transmission system used in the ZTK "Teofilów". It contains a presentation of the system concept, principles of its operation and technical equipment. A special attention was paid to some limitations which appear in the case of systems based on data transmission.

The footwear branch is linked with tho market environment in a definite manner. Information channels, which were formed in conditions of market disequilibrium and management through directives are insufficient for obtaining a high adaptability of the branch to changes in demand. There can be observed some kind of information barriers. The aim of the article is to define some mechanisms producing information barriers. Among the causes of such barriers we can mention such correlation of tho planning system and the evaluation system which accounts for small degree of intorest in market information (organizational barrier), or lack of parametric character of selling prices, which in these conditions lose their informative character as they perform a passive function in the economic calculus of the economic organization or just distort it. Proper correlating of the planning system and the evaluation system and introduction of parametric selling prices is a prerequisite of market orientation of economic organisations in the process of their functioning and development.
