W latach 1920 – 1933 rozwijała się tajna współpraca wojskowa pomiędzy Reichswehrą i A rmią Czerwoną. Ze s trony niemieckiej inicjatorem był gen. Hans von Seeckt, ze s trony rosyjskiej, tamtejsze kręgi wojskowe. Rosjanom zależało na o dbudowie przemysłu woj- skowego i l iczyli na n iemieckie inwestycje zbrojeniowe w R osji Radzieckiej, a n astępnie w ZS RR. Niemcom, ograniczonym w zb rojeniach Traktatem Wersalskim, chodziło o wykorzystanie rosyjskich poligonów do szkolenia lotników, czołgistów, prowadzenia prób z bronią chemiczną. Współpraca więcej korzyści przyniosła Niemcom, mogącym w Lipiecku testować m.in. nowe typy samolotów. W ramach współpracy w Niemczech szkolili się radzieccy oficerowie. Tajna współpraca trwała do 1933 roku. Przerwał ją Hitler po dojściu do władzy

In y ears 1920 – 1933 there was secret military cooperation developing between the R eichswehr and t he Red Army. Its originators were: gen. Hans von Seeckt Współpraca Reichswehry i Armii Czerwonej w latach 1920 – 1933 44 on the German side and some military circles on the Russian one. The Russians cared about the reconstruction of their military industry and counted on German armaments investments in Soviet Russia and the USRR. The Germans whose armaments were limited by the T reaty of V ersailles, were interested in utilizing Russian military training grounds for training their aviators, tankers and testing chemical weapon. The Germans benefited more from the cooperatio n and they could test, among other things, news types of airplanes in Lipieck. Within the confines of the cooperation, Soviet officers were trained in Germany . The 12 – year secret cooperation was discontinued by Hitler after his access to power.
