The main sources of waste generation are: industry, municipal sector, and agriculture. Municipal waste is solid and liquid waste that arise in households, public utilities (trade, services, handicrafts) and municipal services (e.g. street cleaning and maintenance of green areas). The main aim of this paper are the analysis of the flow of municipal solid waste in Łódź Metropolitan Area, its composition, presentation of the process towards a more selective waste system, and the extraction of biodegradable waste from the MSW. The article is based on a report prepared within the Horizon 2020 project REPAiR “Resource Management in Peri-urban Areas: Going Beyond Urban Metabolism”.

The aim of this paper is to describe geographic differences in the prices of accommodation services offered in the Łódź Metropolitan Area. In this paper, the authors justify the need for their research on a metropolitan area scale, as opposed to research in which the study area is limited to the central city of a metropolis. The authors present a methodology for collecting empirical material and the area of research; however, the focus is only on the issue of the identification of the boundaries of the Łódź Metropolitan Area. Discussing the results of the study, the authors characterize in detail the location of accommodation facilities in the Łódź Metropolitan Area and identify geographic differences in the prices of accommodation services offered by the surveyed companies.

Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka przestrzennej zmienności cen usług oferowanych przez obiekty noclegowe w Łódzkim Obszarze Metropolitalnym. W swoim opracowaniu autorzy uzasadnili konieczność podejmowania badań w skali obszaru metropolitalnego w opozycji do prac, których zakres przestrzenny ograniczono do centralnego miasta metropolii. Autorzy zaprezentowali metodologię gromadzenia materiału empirycznego. Przedstawili obszar badań, skoncentrowali się jednakże wyłącznie na zagadnieniu delimitacji łódzkiej metropolii. Omawiając wyniki badania, autorzy szczegółowo scharakteryzowali lokalizację obiektów noclegowych w Łódzkim Obszarze Metropolitalnym, zidentyfikowali prawidłowości przestrzennego zróżnicowania cen usług noclegowych oferowanych przez badane przedsiębiorstwa.
