The article consists of two main parts. The first one focuses on the general characteristics of Lodz Agglomeration Railway (LAR), in particular as regards its operation and organization. The second part of the article provides an assessment of the role of LAR in the public transport system in Lodz, based on analysis of the location, time of travel and train stops accessibility.

Artykuł składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza z nich poświęcona jest charakterystyce Łódzkiej Kolei Aglomeracyjnej zarówno od strony organizacyjnej, jak i funkcjonalnej. Druga część artykułu koncentruje się na ocenie znaczenia ŁKA w systemie lokalnego transportu zbiorowego w Łodzi poprzez analizę lokalizacji, czasu przejazdu oraz dostępności do przystanków kolejowych.
