W artykule omówiono świadczenia emerytalne związane z zatrudnieniem w górnictwie na ziemiach polskich. Górnicy, od zarania tego zawodu mając świadomość stale grożącego im niebezpieczeństwa, doprowadzili do solidarności nieistniejącej w innych branżach. Przejawem ten solidarności jest powstanie instytucji mających zapewnić środki na dalszą egzystencję również w czasie niezdolności do pracy z uwagi na wiek. Dlatego to właśnie w górnictwie najwcześniej rozwinęły się ubezpieczenia i to na nich wzorowano się, wprowadzając później ich powszechne, obligatoryjne formy.

The article discusses retirement benefits related to employment in the mining industry on Polish soil. The miners are constantly aware of the danger threatening them from the beginning of the occupation, led to solidarity does not exist in other industries. A manifestation of this solidarity is the creation of institutions that provide some means for the continued existence even during incapacity for work due to age. This is why in the mining industry at the earliest developed insurance and are the modeled itself after entering their widespread obligatory form.

Górnicy podlegali przymusowi ubezpieczenia z uwagi na niezdolność do pracy znacznie wcześniej, niż zostały wprowadzone powszechne obligatoryjne ubezpieczenia emerytalne. W okresie wprowadzenia powszechnego ubezpieczenia emerytalnego posiadali dodatkowe ubezpieczenie pensyjne, z którego uzyskiwali świadczenia z uwagi na niezdolność do pracy z powodu wieku lub niepełnosprawności. Na takie ukształtowanie się struktury ubezpieczenia w okresie międzywojennym miał wpływ przede wszystkim historyczny rozwój brackich ubezpieczeń pensyjnych. Ponadto szczególnie trudne warunki pracy w branży miały być równoważone dodatkowymi świadczeniami w celu zachęcenia do pracy w kopalniach.

The miners had compulsory insurance due to the inability to work much earlier than has been introduced general compulsory pension insurance. The miners in the period introduction of a universal pension scheme had additional insurance pensyjne from which to obtain an benefit due to the inability to work because of age or disability. On the formation of the structure of insurance in the interwar period was influenced mainly by the historical development of insurance brackich pensyjnych. Furthermore particularly difficult working conditions in the industry were to be balanced by additional benefits to encourage work in the mines.

The article presents the rules of retirement in selected European countries and the consequences of lowering the retirement age in Poland from October 2017 for the finances, the labor market and pension level. In particular, examples of pension calculations are given with different initial capital levels and different retirement periods. According to the author, it will be necessary to raise the retirement age in the future, but it would require great political courage.(original abstract)
