Английские заимствования в названиях русских часов

The present text focuses on English borrowings in the Russian language that are used to coin the names of Russian watches. The problem is scrutinized in the context of the Americanization of culture in post-Soviet Russia. It has been shown that the borrowings most frequently used by the Russian watchmakers are well-established in Russian as they have been functioning in the language at least since the first half of the 20th century. The analysis of nominations employing English borrowings indicates that tendencies in the naming practices in the Russian watchmaking industry seem to be substantially conservative.

В статье рассматриваются английские заимствования, используемые в наименованиях часов русского производства в контексте американизации культуры в постсоветский период истории России. Показано, что если заимствования используются, то это заимствования, которые освоены в первой половине ХХ века. Анализ номинаций с использованием англицизмов говорит о значительной консервативности нейминга в российском часовом производстве.

The article is devoted to the brand names of Polish and Russian vodkas and also to those produced in the former Soviet republics. The purpose is to show which names dating from the socialist times are still in use and why, as well as to describe the phenomena of socialist reality which, in the spirit of nostalgia for the PRL and the USSR, were the inspiration for the brand names of vodka produced today.

Artykuł został poświęcony nazwom wódek polskich, rosyjskich oraz wysokoprocentowych alkoholi produkowanych w byłych republikach ZSRR. Celem było pokazanie, jakie nazwy z czasów socjalistycznych przetrwały i dlaczego używane są one nadal oraz jakie zjawiska socjalistycznej rzeczywistości były inspiracją dla nazw wódek obecnie produkowanych w duchu nostalgii za czasami PRL i ZSRR.
