The article considers the translation of two poems by Igor Severyanin into Polish. In the first case a translational analysis of the source and the target text is offered. The second case is an example of a pre-translation analysis followed by an attempt to make a translation. What is taken into account is the issue of the old combining with the new, the innovative with the traditional in the works of the poet (on the level of vocabulary, imagery and form) and the task of reproducing this fusion in translation. The analysis indicates examples of the translator’s compensations for certain lost elements of the source texts.

В статье рассматривается перевод двух стихотворений Игоря Северянина на польский язык. Первая пара стихов (подлинник и перевод) была подвергнута переводческому анализу. Вторая является примером предпероводческого анализа и попыткой выполнить перевод. В центре нашего внимания оказалась проблема сочетания старого и нового, новаторского и традиционного в произведениях поэта (на уровне лексики, образов и формы) и воспроизведение этого сочетания в переводе. Анализ указывает примеры компенсирования переводчиком утраченных элементов исходного текста.

This study is dedicated to contemporary research on experimental literature, which was recognized as an outstanding phenomena and also as the form of artistic transgression during recent years. The reason for reflections on this topic was the publication of the monograph by Oksana Kovatska entitled Experimental Sails of Ukrainian Prose of the 1920s (Kyiv 2020). Kovatska appreciates the element of experiment in the Ukrainian post-revolutionary literature, and highly appreciates the innovative search of the young generation of contemporary writers. In particular, she focuses on three figures of literary experimentation, considering them in the context of the works of Viktor Petrov (Domontovych), Arkadii Liubchenko and Mike Johansen. Oksana Kovatska’s monograph is published as a pioneering work in the field of the problem presented here.

Предметом уваги авторів є стан дослідження експериментальної літератури, яка в останній час здобуває визнання як культурне явище та як форма художньої трансгресії. Підставою для роздумів на цю тему стала публікації авторської монографії Оксани Ковацької Експериментальні вітрила української прози 20-х років ХХ століття (Київ 2020). Дослідниця доцінює стихію експерименту в українській пореволюційній літературі, високо оцінює новаторські пошуки молодої ґенерації тогочасних письменників. Вона зокрема зосереджує свою увагу на трьох постатях літературного експериментування, розглядаючи їх у контексті творчості Віктора Петрова (Домонтовича), Аркадія Любченка та Майка Йогансена. Монографія Оксани Ковацької видається піонерською працею у презентованому тут вимірі проблематики.
