В статье раскрываются особенности жанра антиутопии в «Великом Инквизиторе» (роман «Братья Карамазовы») Ф.М. Достоевского. Даются ключевые различия между понятиями «идея» и «идеология». Текст Достоевского проанализирован в сравнении с романом Олдоса Хаксли «О дивный новый мир» в историческом, культурном и политическом контекстах. Раскрываются некоторые типичные особенности русской ментальности.

The article investigates the genre of dystopia in "The Grand Inquisitor" (as part of the novel "The Brothers" Karamazov) by F.M. Dostoyevsky. The key differences between the concepts of idea and ideology are also shown. The connection between Dostoyevsky`s text and Aldous Huxley`s novel "Brave New World" in historical, cultural and political contexts is analysed. Moreover, typical elements of Russian mentality are explored in the article.
