The anniversary – 50 years of publication – makes an occasion to describe the “Zagadnienia Informacji Naukowej” (ZIN) journal’s history from it’s beginning up till now. Three stages have been selected: 1) Polish Academy of Sciences – Documentation and Information Science Centre Bulletin 1962-1972; 2) ZIN 1972-1993; 3) ZIN 1994-2011. The author presents the journal’s composition, form, respective institutions responsible for publishing, editorial board, and thematic profile.
