The author attempts to convince the reader that certain features of neoliberal culture such as individualism, consumerism or haste in every area of life make an impact on education, including adult education. Adults hardly ever read, and even if they read, they do not always understand what they read, while in the net they search for information rather than knowledge, and sometimes they do not know what they are looking for and “wilfing” occurs. Maybe they look for “a human being”. By making a book available and widespread, one can help to “find another human being”.

W tekście autor stara się przekonać Czytelnika, że takie cechy neoliberalnej kultury, jak indywidualizm, konsumpcjonizm, pośpiech, w każdej dziedzinie życia, wywierają piętno na edukacji – w tym edukacji dorosłych. Człowiek dorosły bardzo rzadko czyta, a jeśli już, to nie zawsze czyta ze zrozumieniem, w „sieci” poszukuje informacji, a nie wiedzy, ale czasami nie wie, czego szuka, pojawia się zjawisko „wilfing.u. Być może szuka „człowieka”. Udostępniając i upowszechniając książkę, można pomóc w „odnalezieniu człowieka”.
