Der Artikel greift das Thema der Namen von Straßen und sonstigen öffentlichen Räumen in Stettin/Szczecin innerhalb der letzten hundert Jahre auf. Da die Stadt innerhalb dieser Zeitspanne im Deutschen Reich, in der Weimarer Republik, im NS-Staat, in der Volksrepublik Polen und in der Republik Polen gelegen war, erfuhren die Stadt und ihre Einwohner einen dramatischen Wandel. Zahlreiche Namen der öffentlichen Räume bieten einen tiefen Einblick in diese Prozesse an. Die meisten Namen wurden mehrmals umbenannt; ein kleiner Teil von ihnen blieb bis heute unverändert. Der Artikel ist kulturwissenschaftlich ausgerichtet und offeriert zwei Methoden der Forschung. Er soll als Basis zu weiteren Analysen fungieren.

This article tackles the topic of street names and other public spaces in the city of Stettin/Szczecin within the last hundred years. As the city was placed in German Empire, Weimar Republic, Nazi Germany, People’s Republic of Poland, and Republic of Poland, the city and its inhabitants have experienced a dramatic change within this period of time. Many names of public spaces offer a deep insight of those processes. Most names have been changed and replaced several times; a very little part of them has remained the same until today. The article takes a cultural science orientation and offers two methods of researching. It is meant to be a contribution to further analysis.

Artykuł podejmuje wątek nazw ulic i innych przestrzeni publicznych w mieście Stettin/Szczecinie na przestrzeni ostatnich stu lat. Z uwagi na fakt, że miasto w owym okresie znajdowało się w Cesarstwie Niemieckim, Republice Weimarskiej, nazistowskich Niemczech, Polskiej Rzeczpospolitej Ludowej oraz Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej, miasto i jego mieszkańcy doświadczyli dramatycznych zmian. Wiele nazw przestrzeni publicznych Stettina/Szczecina oferuje głęboki wgląd w te procesy. Większość z nazw była zmieniana wiele razy; bardzo niewielka część z nich pozostała w swym oryginalnym brzmieniu do dziś. Artykuł przyjmuje optykę kulturoznawczą, i oferuje dwie metody badań. Ma on w swoim założeniu stanowić przyczynek do dalszych analiz.
